THIS week the Costa Blanca News group launches the petition ‘Tell the UK government you want associate EU citizenship’.
We are aiming to show Theresa May’s team that the hundreds of thousands of British expats living in Spain want guarantees over their future in the country.
Associate EU citizenship is the proposal made by MEP Charles Goerens to allow individual UK nationals to keep their rights following Britain’s withdrawal from the EU.
Under the initiative, Britons would have the option of paying a fee in order to retain ‘freedom of movement’ in the EU and a vote in European elections.
