The suspect in Málaga city

A 36-YEAR-old Hungarian man has been detained in Málaga for allegedly carrying out nine thefts at hotels in the city, and several others at hotels elsewhere on the Costa and wider Spain.

Police say he pretended to be a tourist, carrying a backpack and pulling a wheeled suitcase, to gain access without suspicion and then head for the bedrooms on the upper floors. Once inside, the suspect allegedly broke into guests’ rooms where he helped himself to cash and valuables.
