Government deal moves closer

The Socialist party (PSOE) and Sumar have signed a pact to govern Spain – and the deal includes important infrastructure works for Alicante province.

Acting PM Pedro Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz gave details of their agreement on Wednesday.

For Alicante, it would see the rail connection constructed between the cities of Alicante and Elche, and Alicante-Elche airport at El Altet.

However, Sr Sánchez still has to convince Catalan nationalist parties to support his bid if he is to return as Prime Minister.
