Businesses fear crisis summer

BUSINESS owners fear a disastrous tourist season as road closures hit the centre of Dénia over the summer in a controversial programme of redevelopment.
They say calls for the local authority to postpone the work in key streets have fallen on deaf ears – and a legal action is being prepared for the courts in Valencia.
And with the gloomy prediction that revenue could fall by at least 40%, it was feared the works could ‘kill off a lot of people’ and see job losses as businesses cut back.
