BENIDORM council has come up with a simple solution to a long-standing problem when it comes to the safety of British tourists in the resort.
In the UK, people are conditioned to looking right before they cross the road, but many forget that when they come to Spain they need to look left, and unfortunately this leads to accidents.
To try and prevent this from happening, the council has started to upgrade the zebra crossings in the Rincon de Loix zone of the town and paint the words ‘Look left’ on them to remind tourists that the traffic comes from the opposite direction.
