Radical separatist groups have taken to the streets of Barcelona to cause chaos today, October 1 – the first anniversary of the illegal independence referendum held in the Catalan region. Some groups have blocked key streets in Barcelona (Diagonal, Laietana, etc..) while marches around the city are led by the slogan: Ni Oblit, Ni Perdó (No Forget, No Forgiving) in reference to police action taken a year ago when police were called in to stop the referendum.
Earlier this morning radical protestors blocked the AVE high speed railway lines at Gerona central station and main roads and the motorway in Cambrils, Tarragona (Costa Dorada).
