Study expected to be put out for public consultation by early summer

Mayor AngelesMuñoz and minister Iñigo de la Serna presenting the study in Marbella

PUBLIC Works minister Íñigo de la Serna on Saturday presented the results of the first phase of a study into the design options for the extension of the Málaga-Fuengirola Cercanías train line to Marbella and Estepona.

The study has reduced the options to two principal routes: along the A-7, which would require tunnelling on nearly the entire route; or along the AP-7, with the tracks veering down to the coast in the urban areas served by the line.
