A 53-year-old woman was arrested in Ronda last month on suspected robbery and petty theft charges, for reportedly stealing €11,000 worth of jewellery from a 90-year-old woman she worked as a carer for. The woman’s family noticed jewellery going missing earlier this year and a police investigation found that the items had been sold to gold-trading stores in Málaga by the caretaker. Most of the pieces were recovered, and the carer is thought to have scammed a further three women out of almost €40,000 of jewellery.
