Spain’s airport taxes are set to become the lowest in the EU. Public works minister Iñigo de la Serena has announced that the rates, which influence carriers’ operational decisions, are to be slashed in the next two years. While reducing 3% this year, they will fall by 12% next year – three times more than originally planned – and by a further 5% in 2020.
