The Royal Gibraltar Police warned bathers to be extremely cautious last Friday following a sighting of a hammerhead shark 150 metres off Sandy Bay. The shark was estimated to measure 1.6 metres long. Red flags were flown on east side beaches for several hours, after which they were changed to yellow, and no further sightings were reported.
