More than a million vehicles on Spanish roads have serious tyre defects, according to Tráfico. The traffic authority is in the middle of a week-long campaign of vehicle checks because it says one in five cars would not pass the ITV test. Police across Spain are carrying out spot checks with the emphasis on tyres, brakes, lights and signalling.
