A 58-year-old man from the Netherlands was rescued on Saturday after falling into a ditch along the course of the Chillar river near Nerja. Rescue services were alerted at midday after he slipped and fell in an area of difficult access. Guardia Civil officers and fire crews carried him to the nearest road from where an ambulance took him to Vélez-Málaga Hospital.
