A seven-year-old boy, pulled from a public swimming pool on Lanzarote by a lifeguard on Friday, is reported to be critical in intensive care. Emergency crews used a defibrillator to restart his heart and breathing before rushing him to hospital. Two young children died in Málaga and Alicante in recent days after suffering cardiac arrest in private swimming pools.
