The Reina Sofía University Hospital in Córdoba has received an accolade after surgeons successfully used a tissue graft to treat a 12-year-old girl suffering from a congenital defect. The pioneering liver operation using laparoscopy was the first in Andalucía and the first in Spain using a live donor. The journal Diario Médico has listed the intervention as one of its “Best ideas of 2017.”
