Spanish smartphone manufacturer ZTE is to update the software of its handsets so that calls to the domestic violence helpline 016 no longer are recorded in the calls log. The company said it agreed the move with the government to help combat the “scourge” that leaves dozens in fear. In March, Huawei, Nokia, BQ, Samsung and LG made similar undertakings to the Gender Violence office.
