Benalmádena’s Parque de la Paloma has two new inhabitants, in the form of a pair of rescue donkeys. Lucero and Melchor had been saved by the El Refugio del Burrito donkey sanctuary after being abandoned by farmhouses in the province. Local councillor Joaquín Villazón said that the pair, both male, would have a better home in the park and “promote awareness and preservation” of the animals.
