A 58-year-old man died on Sunday evening after being struck by lightning in Guadahortuna, north-east of Granada. He was driving towards the capital with his wife and two children when he decided to stop to see if the heavy rain had damaged his almond trees. The lightning struck while he was outside the vehicle.
