Three freelance Spanish journalists, kidnapped in Syria ten months ago, were released last Saturday. They were taken to Turkey and flown home on Sunday morning in a Falcon 900 belonging to Spain’s Air Force. In Madrid, the government acknowledged the help it had received from “allied and friendly countries,” principally Turkey and Qatar, to secure the men’s freedom.
