Workers at the Las Lagunas health centre in Mijas held a protest outside the centre last Wednesday to demand a boost in staffing at the centre, which the Sindicato Médico de Málaga and other trade unions say has one of the most overloaded A&E departments in the region. The unions are also demanding a return to the 35-hour work week for employees, from the current 37.5 hours.
