Forecast Raised

The government has raised its growth forecast for 2016 from 2.9 to 3.0%. However, acting PM Mariano Rajoy warned on Monday that “some economic indicators are not as positive,” referring to Spain’s political hiatus and Brexit. He also confirmed that the caretaker government had no powers to adopt a 2017 budget which could “affect the interests” of workers in the public sector and investment-led areas.
