Fuengirola councillor Francisco José Martín said last week that, as part of a campaign to “help families going through a bad time” over the festive season, the town’s social services department spent €41,520 on 226 pre-paid cards loaded with money to help families pay for food and shopping, and €11,235 on vouchers for presents for 321 children.
