Construction work on a new four-lane road has started in Fuengirola, connecting the old N340 coastal road to urbanisations north of the Cercanías train line, in Carvajal and Torreblanca del Sol. The first part of the project, described as “very complex” by town hall, will see a new tunnel created beneath the train tracks. The 450-metre long road project has a budget of almost five million euros, and is being funded by property promoters and homeowners in the benefitting areas.
