Almuñécar has won its court battle with El Mirlo, the rubbish collection contractors whose workers went on strike in August 2007. El Mirlo lost its €13 million claim in a Granada court, ratified by an upper regional court, but now the Supreme Court has rejected their appeal as “inadmissible.” The 2007 strike left piles of rubbish in the streets.
