Argentina’s soccer striker Leo Messi appeared in court in Barcelona last Thursday on the third day of a trial in which he and his father are accused of tax evasion.

The 28-year-old spent only 15 minutes answering questions and is unlikely to be required to return to the stand.

Messi was loudly heckled by members of the public as he arrived at the court building with some branding him a “thief” and others calling on him to “give the money back.”

Others used colourful language to suggest he moves to Panama, in reference to his name appearing in the so-called Panama Papers.
