The number of public hospital beds has dropped even as the population has risen, says union

MÁLAGA province has lost 370 public hospital beds since 2012 and has the country’s lowest ratio of hospital beds per inhabitant, according to a report released last week by the CC.OO trade union.

The union blamed government cutbacks, which it said have caused a “serious deterioration in healthcare and the destruction of jobs” in the public health system.
