Madrid honours London Bridge hero

Ignacio Echeverría, stabbed to death when he came to the aid of a policeman during the attacks, is awarded Spain's Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit

The only Spanish national who died in this month’s terror attack in London has been awarded one of Spain’s highest civil honours. Ignacio Echeverría, aged 39 and from Madrid, was one of eight people who lost their lives in the centre of the capital on the evening of June 3.
