TWENTY-one people have been arrested in the break-up of a gang that allegedly transported hashish from Málaga and Cádiz provinces to France using what police call the ‘Go Fast’ method, hauling the drugs in vans escorted by lookout vehicles that race ahead to detect possible police presence.
During the operation one of the van drivers smashed into a Guardia Civil patrol car, injuring the three officers in the car as well as himself, said Guardia officials. All four required treatment in hospital.
The Guardia Civil collaborated with French police in the operation, which was carried out in phases beginning in April of last year when officers detected the presence in Málaga province of several French individuals with police records for drug trafficking in their home country.
