All change at cash points

The merger of the three Spanish card schemes will create one interbank network of a size comparable with those of other European markets

At present, there are three interbank networks operating in Spain

In 2015, the commission charged by some banks for use of their cash points (ATMs) by anyone who did not hold an account with them hit the headlines.

It followed a move by some entities which resulted in customers withdrawing cash being charge a double commission: one by the bank owning the cash point, and a second by their own bank.
