THE PARTIAL collapse of one of Orihuela’s most emblematic historic monuments – the Taifal defence tower which forms part of the castle on the San Miguel hill – has outraged councillors from the Cambiemos Orihuela party.
They hit out at the council over delays in protection work at the hilltop fortification, which is already in a poor condition.
