Cabo Roig market mess

Dear all,
On my recent visit to the market, arriving as they were packing up, I was so shocked, annoyed and really angry to see so many plastic bags blowing into the sea.
I know there is a team who come to clear up at the finish but this does not stop the horrific pollution of the sea.
When we read about the effort being made to prevent pollution this must not be allowed to continue.
If the stallholders can’t take responsibility for their own waste, then stop the market. It is too close to the coastline to allow such a complete lack of responsibility.
Kind regards
Arthur James McArdle
Thank you for your letter, Arthur. The local residents’ associations are trying to get the market moved to a more suitable location.
We are following the situation and will do another story as soon as there is a development.
All the best.
