  1. We employed an English speaking Spanish qualified lawyer to buy a house while we still lived in England. When we arrived at the notary office we found the proceeding all completed in Spanish, the notary left the room whilst payment was exchanged and our lawyer submitted we paid €132000 not the £132000 we actually paid.
We are now selling the house and having obtained the escritura from the safe keeping of the lawyer we now find the lawyer never checked the description of the property and thus we are paying an architect and a topologist in order to correct the escritura. We didn’t know what we were doing and yes, we were naive in placing trust in our Spanish qualified lawyer.
