Reed removal project proceeds

The Júcar river and water authority (CHJ) is investing more than €1 million to restore native riverside vegetation on the River Girona in the municipalities of Beniarbeig, Ondara and El Verger.

The CHJ explained that first phase was to eliminate the Arundo donax reeds, also known as giant canes, which are invasive plants and highly flammable.
