I wish to comment on the letter published in issue 2199 (July29th-Aug4th) headed “Loss of healthcare on Brexit”.
The writer, Mr Kevin Reardon, signs off as TRBL Orihuela Costa. I must point out that whilst the Royal British Legion (UK) is considering the implications of Brexit on all its European members, this letter and petition do not represent official Legion policy. To sign the letter as TRBL is misleading and may encourage people to link into the petition thinking that it is endorsed by the Legion, which is not the case.
Immediately there is an official policy statement from Haig House in London regarding the Legion’s position and advice to members in Europe, it will be circulated.
Any member of the Legion is, of course, free to write to you as a private individual on any subject, but is not entitled to make it appear to be either official Legion policy or endorsed by the charity.
