Only some areas of Alicante province will advance to phase one on Monday (May 11) in the government’s exit plan.
These are the healthcare areas of Torrevieja, Orihuela, Marina Baixa (Benidorm), Denia, Alcoy and Elda.
This will mean residents living in these areas will be able to enjoy the services offered by bar and restaurant terraces on Monday – amongst other measures (see today’s Costa Blanca News).
PM Pedro Sánchez had originally said that regions – such as Valencia – would be judged on their provinces.
However, he bowed to pressure from regional presidents who asked for the measure to be broken down to individual healthcare departments.
Areas which will miss out are Alicante city and Elche.
The whole of the region of Murcia will pass to phase one, as will Gandía in Valencia province.
