Bid to reverse Sunday opening rules

Orihuela council is to submit objections to the Valencia government’s draft law for sustainable commerce in an attempt to allow Zenia Boulevard shopping centre in Orihuela Costa to open every day of the year.

If successful the bid could affect all commercial centres in busy tourism areas on the Costa Blanca.

  1. I found it strange when I got here that they had to close on Sundays. But the big markets are allowed to continue. On the Costa Brava all Lidls, Carrefours, Mercadonas etc. are open on Sundays. Why not in this area that also depends on tourism?
