Flyers’ anger over border control waiting times

WHEN the new ABC facial recognition passport system was introduced at Alicante-Elche airport in 2016 the government promised it would ‘eliminate unnecessary queues’.
However, hundreds of thousands of passengers are finding that rather than making their passage through passport check area quicker – the system is creating a blockage, with many travellers having to wait lengthy periods.
