Airport beats off Brexit blues

PASSENGER numbers from the UK are on the up again at Alicante-Elche airport following a downturn in 2018.

Airport director Tomás Melgar noted that traffic with Britain has experienced ‘rapid growth’ during the winter.

However, Sr Melgar admitted the hotel sector is worried over the effects of Brexit, as reservations for the summer from the UK are 15% down at the moment.
