One of Almería’s most popular open-air bars and live music venues has been forced to shut down after a well known Spanish film actress lodged a complaint about noise.
Located in a beauty spot in Los Escullos, Cabo de Gata, Bar de Joe was for many years considered a must-see night spot for rock and blues concerts, particularly during the summer months.
In July, The Guardian newspaper ranked it among the 10 best beach bars in Spain, describing it as “a legendary port of call on the Almería coast, attracting bikers, rockers, curious tourists and celebrities from far and wide”.
