A new 600-space car park is being created behind the Pueblo Indalo holiday apartments in Mojacar.
The extra car parking is part of a project to build 88 new apartments at the site in addition to the existing 600 units.
Last summer the council and Best Hotels, which owns Pueblo Indalo, created 200 new parking spaces after the new promenade was completed, taking out a number of beachside car parking areas.
