Council reissues original plans after previous approval judged out of time

Mojacar council has launched its controversial plan for the second phase of the town promenade for the second time, after opponents managed to stall the project based on failure to comply with legal time limits.

The re-issue of the plans in their original form has caused an outcry from owners of beach bars who claim the prom extension will destroy their businesses, saying in a joint statement that they are “surprised and indignant” at the “repeatedly intransigent and contemptuous” attitude of mayor Rosa María Cano.

They now have until early February to lodge formal objections to the project.
