A popular expat playwright and actor who lost his wife to a heart attack at their home on Mojacar Playa last year has raised money to buy a life-saving defibrillator for the area.

When Jim Dale-Grey’s wife, Annabelle, suffered the attack it took around 30 minutes for the ambulance to arrive by which time she had died, despite CPR attempts.

Although Mr Dale-Grey said he did not know whether earlier intervention would have saved Annabelle, he and his son Mark, who started a crowd funding campaign to raise the money, wanted to provide a chance for other potential victims to receive emergency treatment sooner.
