The former mayor of Zurgena Cándido Trabalón has been cleared by a court in Almería of charges of illegally granting planning consent for five houses in Los Llanos and El Cucador.
Former urban planning councillor, Manuel Tijeras and five other officers have also been absolved of charges relating to planning offences.
The defendants, from the socialist PSOE and independent Partido Andalucista parties, were facing potential suspended prison sentences of up to one year and a bar from public office.
