British woman seeks to alleviate loneliness she says is ‘widespread’ among single expats

An events’ organiser from Bédar has launched a new singles club after hearing many people without partners admit to reluctance in attending social meetings alone.

Siobhan Tattan, 59 and happily married, started the ‘Sgt Pepper Club’ – named after the famous Beatles’ album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ to provide a “safe and welcoming community” for people on their own who experience anxiety about going out.
