Cantoria expats bemoan council delays in issuing property certificates

Cantoria residents living in illegal houses have complained of delays of up to a year in obtaining certificates to regularise their homes, according to the Auan British property rights group.

The Auan blames the council for failing to deal with requests for AFOs – a declaration entitling an illegal property to services and bringing it within the planning regime.

It says that out of some 750 properties due to be granted AFOs only 50 have been authorised.
