French film legend Catherine Deneuve has been honoured with a star on Almería’s walk of fame.
Hailed as the great dame of European cinema, the 73-year-old actress attended Sunday’s opening gala of the international film festival to receive her award.
Her name joins a list of 12 other stars who made movies in the province, including British director Ridley Scott, and actors Omar Sharif and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Deneuve received her award in recognition of the 1977 war drama ‘March or Die’, which she filmed in the province with Gene Hackman and Max von Sydow.
