Ex-director denies charges of 'massive and unjustified' euthanasia

THE former director of the Parque Animal shelter and municipal pound in Torremolinos, who is accused of animal abuse in relation to irregularities in the euthanising of hundreds of animals at the centre, went on trial in Málaga on Tuesday.

On the first day of trial she denied the charges, saying she had never performed euthanasia procedures, has a “phobia” against needles and is an “animal lover”.
