Acting PM Mariano Rajoy’s PP party and centrists Ciudadanos led by Albert Rivera have finally signed an agreement to vote in favour of Rajoy’s investiture as PM this week. However, the total number of MPs (169 plus one of Coalición Canaria making 170), is still six short of the required minimum to appoint Rajoy as PM. Pressure continues upon the PSOE party to abstain in the vote this week to allow Spain to have a new government – or head towards a third general election in a year on December 25.
