COMPANIES renting out mobility scooters in Benidorm have been given one week to register their vehicles before new bylaws are enforced.
Regulations targeting the abuse and misuse of scooters in the resort should have come into force on July 10.
Under the new bylaws the rental of mobility scooters is limited to people above the age of 55 and those who have mobility problem certificates.
They also establish that all vehicles must be registered with the town hall, but to this date not one of the companies has presented the required documents.
