Undeclared add-ons and improvements to be spotted by drones

THE Finance Ministry and Land Registry have announced a new campaign during which they hope to detect property owners who have made undeclared improvements. These include extensions built onto existing buildings and the addition of swimming pools.

The inspections began in 2013, and this year technicians will use remote controlled drones flying above developed areas to take photographs for later analysis against lists of licences issued. Of the 1,272 municipalities earmarked nationwide for attention this year, 11 are in Granada province and two in Málaga.
