Costa hospital launches protocol to detect rape-drug use

THE  Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella has launched a protocol aimed at detecting the use of so-called rape-drugs, substances that can be put into a person’s drink to leave them dopey and susceptible to being taken advantage of sexually or robbed.

In the first programme of its type in Andalucía, the hospital worked together with law enforcement and forensic medicine specialists to develop the protocol for identifying potential cases and carrying out analyses to detect the use of the drugs.
